BEING A CHRISTIAN, AND HAVING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, IS SUCH A CONTRADICTION IN TERMS ITS HARD TO SELF ASSESS.
The bible says to
”cast down vein imaginings”
”renew your mind”
”cast all your care upon Him”
”be anxious for nothing”
”our on the armour of God”
”endure to the end...
Well - how? and why?

The bible says to:-
1.”cast down vein imaginings”
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
***************************************************************************************************
2.”renew your mind”
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
************************************************************************************************
”be anxious for nothing”
”Put on the armour of God”
The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.
AMEN & AMEN! <><<

The human body is subject to sickness and decay. Our brains are not exempt from this. Christians no less susceptible to any illness than the general population. Most Christians do not understand the nature of psychiatric disorders and are quick to quote Bible verses well out of context.
In Romans chapter 12 where it speaks about the renewing of our minds - not a brain transplant - it refers to the transformation of our characters so that they become as God intended them to be, as demonstrated in Jesus, this in spite of any physical constraints we may have.
I really like this translation (The Remedy) of Romans 12 v1-2:
"Do not continue to practice the destructive methods of selfishness, which infect the world, but be completely transformed into God's image by the renewing of your mind. Then you will value God's principles, practice his methods, and discern his will–his good, pleasing and perfect will."
We also read in Romans 8v10
"But if trust in God and Christlike character have been recreated in your mind, yet your physical body remains defective and dying, don't be distressed, for your mind and character are alive, as the principles of life have been renewed in you."

Sadly ignorance like this adds salt to the wound and further adds to the isolation that is often part of a diagnosis.
Christians, like others are becoming more aware of mental illness and things are slowly changing. Finding an accepting community is now possible.

Pretty much @eudemonism. @Former-Member I don’t know where to begin and have to leave soon anyway. Just venting. Looping round and round the grief process merry-go-round I guess. Round and roUnd, waves. Don’t like myself like this, nobody needs it (me)
