yeah, dunno @Bunniekins had been thinking about not going to fathers, I mean why do you have to be there at the same time? and see all the relatives and others that you would never otherwise see? plus all the expense re me, 4000k round trip plus accom now as no house anymore

@TAB that is exactly what I have decided. You only go to funerals to see other people who really dont care about you only the person who died and they are dead after all so dont know if you are there of not .... I prefer something more personal so will spend my time with my children. It is private for me I am not into public displays of grief. But everyone should do what they are comfortable with and not feel obliged to do what society deems as appropriate.

@TAB yes well I have never been a party person and like to choose who I see. Like my neighbour's daughter when she died I went for my neighbour and I hope she appreciated it. I didnt really know the daughter but I love my neighbour and she is a good friend to me so of course I would go. The people who my mother associates with and even my sister I never see so after she passes that will be it. I really dont want my grief to be on display for all to see but everyone is different.

yes, wont be seeing a lot of people again if do go, most people at mothers funeral 2.5 yrs ago hadnt seen in 20 years @Bunniekins
