..car had been funny when starting last week or so @Shaz51  then would not start sunday , so I called roadservice. Of course public holiday yest , so rang someone this morning. they will come and do it around 5pm. they said bit over $400 yay

yeah had same problem like 3 ish years ago @Former-Member  cant remember whether I got it fixed or not tbh. Dont know this guy. hes works in next town but lives here. I know how much part costs as already looked at place he is getting it from . so hes charging me $200 and doing it in my driveway so not too bad I guess. prob 1.5 hour job if that

@Shaz51 , oh I'm sorry to hear about Mr Shaz not feeling well. Hopefully he will after a good rest. I hope you had a delicious cup of tea with biscuits and are doing something lovely like reading a good book!

Thats good to do the checking of costs first. Based on my experience I have had to be really careful with mechanics in the past. Just spoke to someone on here last night about expensive dental bills. The cost of living is sky high. I have been slashing my budget and have been able to save $2000 annually ringing around just getting better deals. My next plan is to restrict meat consumption and gravitate slowly to going vegan @TAB. Sounds like you have a good mechanic that charges fair price but still $400 is a huge chunk of money.
