Craft Corner

Re: Craft Corner

It’s beautiful @outlander xxoo

Re: Craft Corner

Thank you @BlueBay 💙

Re: Craft Corner

Have been  feeling  a little  bored lately.  Maybe I should do something  arty/crafty. I have no skills.  Need something that won't  take long to finish (so it holds my attention)  & must be cheap.  Any suggestions.

Re: Craft Corner

@utopia Are you interested in trying string art? I've only ever tried very basic stuff but I think it could range from easy to hard depending on what you were trying to do. And if you use a cork board and 'erase' by reusing the string and repositioning the nails/tacks then it can be inexpensive too.

Some internet examples:

Re: Craft Corner

Hmm what about card making or scrap booking? @utopia
crochetting is pretty cheap too.
Or sculpting with clay?

Re: Craft Corner

WOwen string art looks interesting @TheVorticon. Thanks.

@outlander - I do like clay - the feel of it.

Re: Craft Corner

Sounds good @utopia happy crafting!

Re: Craft Corner

@utopia, these are leaf collages.  You can either cut them out of old magazines or junk mail, or use real leaves, feathers, etc that you gather for yourself.  They can be painted over too.  More examples are available if you search up “leaf collages” or “leaf art”.

Edit:  It would probably help if I attached the images .....

Re: Craft Corner

Hi @TheVorticon. I love your idea of string art! I've never really come across this before except when I was little- I used to get hold of some of my Dad's nails from the shed, a hammer which I claimed as my own and a block of wood that was an offcut from the BBQ and 'tried' to be creative with some yarn. I reckon all of my 'masterpieces' were rehashed by dad when he needed the nails so there were none to keep but it was something fun to do as a 5 year old!

If it's okay with you, I'd like to add this idea to my collection of craft ideas for myself for later on to help me with my mental health journey please. Thank you for the idea and keep up the great work😊👍!

Re: Craft Corner

Hi @outlander Great work on your blanket! I love the colour combination and what you have done with it. The white in between really brings out the other colours. You've now given me something else to think about as to how to use my yarn stash! Thank you for the idea💐!
