Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @Owlunar  spotted you elsewhere.  Sorry to hear your back is acting up again.  Hope it eases over the day.  Do you have anything on today?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @eth  thanx um yeah old age and decreptitude.. started job monday that is very physical parts to it and has been warm, was struggling thursday afternoon and woke up crook in middle of night after that, think rest and hydration needed, well going to pub and getting in shout with welsh supervisor and workmates half my age didnt help

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Thanks  @eth

Yes - my spine was having it's say yesterday afternoon - it often does when the weather turns sour

Geez - I am harping on about the weather this morning - but it is horrible in Melbourne - I am so glad I had those two trips to Queensland last winter - now I can tell you - walking out of the airport into the topical air was glorious - and I certain revel in my memories of it

I am having a quiet weekend - my weeks can be very busy and the one just past was - I can hardly believe how fast the week went - and I am glad for a quiet day and plan to do some food prep - I have salad vegetables to prepare - I am definitely looking forward to a change in my diet -

But......... aw I just remembered - I didn't get any Chicken Kiev when I was shopping yesterday - that is not good - I really like to have one of those when I just want to grab a meal from the freezer - I don't forget things often but we all forget things sometimes

All the best Eth

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Good Morning @eth  and everyone here this morning!!!!!

I have not been on the forum since Monday.   Work is hectic and I have no energy by the time I get home from a 9 hour shift.  So whilst the silly season is in full swing ( yay...not) I will most likely just be here on weekends.

PInched  a nerve in my back at work on Tuesday so I have not been moving all that well.....but each day it gets better....so once I got home from work I would have something to eat and then get into my nice warm bed and rest my back.

Other than all that I am good.   Catching up with my sister tonight which will be good. Going out for tea and then seeing a show.

A big hello and blessings to everyone here this morning.   Hope your day has started in the right way!!!!!!   Heart

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

LOL re the pub not helping @TAB   I remember that feeling well.  And lost a job because of it more than once ...  Calling in sick to the boss that saw me going off on the dance floor of a club the night before really wasn't too clever of me!

@Owlunar  yes I remember well getting off a plane at the start of the wet season in Darwin and feeling like my skin could breathe again - had grown up in the tropics and then been south for 24 years.  South again now for 2 1/2 years and still acclimatising to having 4 seasons including winter.  Bro and sil put in a pool this year and I still haven't swum in it because I can't handle cold water (anything below about 26 degrees is cold to me!).  They tease me about it.  I really must do it - bit of a crime to have a pool and not use it.

All the best to you too @Owlunar

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @Former-Member  spotted you elsewhere.  How did you go last night?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

well I stopped smokling @eth , might have to work on the drinking, getting too old for it and yes, lost count of sickies, just keep changing jobs and all the time thinking getting away with it, first 2 days of job I was in bed at 7pm, then they asked if wanted to go, then it was after 9 and in a state, thenwent the next day even tho wasnt well before even got there, I didnt know how to say No oh well

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@Owlunar  you got me thinking about changing to spring/summer diet - we've been doing that lately too.  I cook for the household once a week - last week it was mushroom and coleslaw burgers with avocado mixed with miso,  this week I will do a spring pasta from the coles magazine - has spinach, asparagus, snow peas and basil with parmesan, garlic and lemon juice and grated lemon rind through it - hope it's as yummy as it sounds.

Good topic for this morning - what seasonal foods are people starting to eat at the moment?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@eth @TAB

Yea Tabby Cat - spending the evening shouting with guys half your age - yes - I get it - it would be tough on the system and Eth - losing your job after a night on the dance floor with your boss watching - and loosing your job after - what? - yeah - calling in sick the next day - caught between the chairs of youth and propriety - not good but we all do stuff like that - um - yeah - I can conveniently forget the past when I choose

When I was married with young kids we got a splasher - three metres across - just the right size to enjoy a skinny dip at night - the small planes from the local airport used to fly over our house so it was not on during the day but some nights in Melbourne can be horrible - hot and unbreathable - a dip in a splasher that has warmed up in the hot sun during the day is bliss - I could tell a tale but that's enough for today

Now I couldn't handle the cold water either - I haven't been swimming in the tropics - the pool at the hotel where I stayed was cold - not fun for the old girl with the bad back - but having a pool and not using it - well - is it fun? That is the question - does your family use it? It's their pool.

Hey - it's their pool - don't let them nag you - you only swim when the water warms up in the sun - it will happen in Melbourne by March - such a cryptic comment - but true

Enjoy it when you feel like it
